Lesson Plan Outline
The following lesson plan outline is a basis for our lead teachers who develop the lesson plans for our classrooms. Our center uses the Creative Curriculum which is in alignment with the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards from the Ohio Department of Education. The outline is designed to match focus points with the time of year to make the information more meaningful to the child. The following subjects are included each week in our lesson plans: Literary/ABC's/Language Development, Counting/Numbers/Math, Science, Music, Mental Health, Physical Fitness, Dramatic Play, Art, Bible Studies, Sensory Table, Transportation/Travel, and Self Help & Group Skills. The description of each area is listed below.

Literary/ABC's/Language Development
Reading
  * Read three books twice daily, enrich with puppets

    papers, and props about a story

  * Engage children in conversation about what they

    have just heard, have them repeat the story in the

    order the events happened

Letter Recognition

  * Upper and lower case letters, with review of previous

    ones daily

  * Letters put together equals words

  * Each letter has a sound

  * Spell sight words

  * Learn about opposites

 

Language Development

  * Use our words to communicate our feelings, needs

    and wants to others

  * Enhance vocabulary with pictures and writing  a

    child's made up stories

  * Exploring ways of communication (ex: sign language,

    animal sounds, body language, writing letters)
